On October 22, Chinese-based Multi-tech firm Xiaomi was permitted to “share the SIM card implementation method, device, equipment, and storage medium” patent; the publication number is CN108924820B. The newly authorized patent enables multiple users to programmatically split the SIM card assets in the SIM card data pool.

In addition, according to the firm’s patent documentation, dwindling the users’ data usage fee and provides an excellent user experience. The revelation is about sharing the SIM card implementation method, device, and storage medium for sharing a SIM card. The technique derived from the permitted patent includes as following: 

The method involves a quick process that provides a user-friendly service from the company.  For instance, if the status of the first shared SIM card procured by the user is accessible, the terminal device (which pinpoints a telecommunications link and is the point at which a signal receives or leaves a device) sends a shared SIM card use request to the network that regulates the shared SIM card, gets the competent card resources of the initially shared SIM card reciprocated back by the server.

It is noteworthy that recently Xiaomi filed yet another patent related to a smartphone with a new design and features. The patent summary from the firm revealed a Xiaomi Mobile phone with rounded corners, edges, and curved angles on the sides. The Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software filed the design patent with The Hague International Design System, the industrial design database of the WIPO, on September 25, 2020.
