2018 is going to be the year of folding smartphones. Big technology companies like Samsung, Huawei, and Microsoft are all gearing up for the folding smartphone which are expected to be introduced by the end of this year or early 2019. Now LG has joined the club of folding smartphone with its next flagship that will give a tough competition to iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy X.

According to a new report by The Verge, the upcoming device has a unique folding design which makes it compact even when folded. LG has already obtained a patent from the World Intellectual Property Organization for their upcoming smartphone. The patent describes the unique design of the device which is kept under secret doors by LG. There is no further official information regarding this folding smartphone but we can take a small view of the exclusive design through images published online.

The images refer that new LG smartphone with a folded design is equipped with an AMOLED display which can bend 360-degrees. This phone will fold outwards so that user may use it even while it is in the folded position. This feature is very important as far as telephone conversations are concerned because smartphone with such a snug body is much more convenient to hold in your hand.

There is no concrete information about the name and detailed features of the new LG smartphone. As we are waiting for some more official statements regarding new phone from insider sources, we hope the device to hit the market this year.
