Sony remains interested in improving the PlayStation environment and its ecosystem. That is why it will make various optimizations which will come to PlayStation 4 with a new update. The company is testing the aggregates before its official launch, so it prepares a Beta.

On the PlayStation blog, Sony revealed some of the additions in which it works. Among them is the increase in the maximum number of players for the Party function, which will soon admit up to 16 participants instead of only 8.

In addition, the update will include improvements in audio quality for voice chat, as well as improvements related to network connectivity. Sony will provide codes for the Beta, which can be shared with up to 20 different valid accounts.

Those interested in participating in the test can already register at this link. However, Sony commented that, for now, the Beta for America is open to players over 18 who reside in the United States and Canada.

Those who participate in the test will also have early access to a new chat transcription feature, an option that will be added to Party and the Second Screen application on PlayStation 4.

Thanks to this new feature, voice chat messages can be viewed as text in the aforementioned application. Likewise, it will be possible to write so that the text is subsequently read aloud. Sony stressed that this function will be available only in the United States and English.

In related news, several reports pointed to an upcoming price increase of PlayStation Plus in some countries. On the other hand, Australian authorities took legal action against Sony Europe.
