A three-day conference organized by Huawei is going on in Dongguan, where the company showcased the first smart screen TV, which will come with the latest Hongmeng OS. Zhao Ming mentioned that Huawei’s smart screen would not be anything like the traditional TV that consumers worldwide are used to.

Huawei Smart Screens uses innovative technology to push the limits of traditional TVs. The TV Smart Screen sports a 55-inch screen and it will be available in two versions, standard and the Pro version. The conference was mainly concerned with the Pro version. What makes Huawei wisdom screen better unlike the traditional TVs is its “mobile phone elements” design. The bezel of the smart screen is built after the metal streamer style which is somewhat like the back panel of the mobile phone. The border for the smart screen also uses a seamless bending process.

The Huawei wisdom screen is equipped with a 55-inch screen which comes with a 4K resolution and A+ level IPS HD hard screen, with 87% NTSC wide color gamut, 20% more color than other large-screen products, and 360 nits high brightness. The smart screen comes with an intelligent image quality adjustment function that automatically matches the contrast, color, and dynamic image quality with the kind of video played on the screen. It also has 10-watt speakers which use a Japanese silk diaphragm. The intelligent sound quality adjustment recognizes the different types of video content, and just like the intelligent picture quality, this sound feature to adjusts the sound accordingly.

Unlike the standard version, the Pro version has a hidden camera. Both of the smart screens run on the Hongjun 818 smart chip which sports A73+A53 dual-architecture 4-core CPU and 4-core G51 GPU. The smart screens also support 8K@30Hz, 4K@120Hz, 4K@60Hz video decoding. An H.265 4K video broadcast only takes 1.3 seconds. The smart screen also comes with HiSili’s flagship Hi1103 WI-FI chip (Huawei Mate20 and Huawei P30).

The camera in the Pro version supports 1080P HD calls between mobile phones and smart screens and between two smart screens. The HONOR Magic-link magic flashing function can put the content displayed on the Huawei mobile phone on to the smart screen. That is not it. The content displayed on the smart screen can be captured. When the mobile phone is connected to the smart screen App, the mobile phone acts as the remote control.

The smart screen supports the Huawei Share function, enabling mobile phones and large screens to transfer pictures to each other. The smart screen also comes equipped with the YOYO voice assistant which can be switched on using the command, “Hello YOYO”. Huawei HiLink docing system is supported by the smart screens. The traditional and Huawei versions are priced at 3799 yuan and 4799 yuan respectively.
