Last year Adobe promised that it will be taking Photoshop far and release it for iPad sometime in 2019. Even though it is almost the end of 2019, Adobe has not released Photoshop or the like of it made exclusively for iPads.

However, this does not mean that Adobe has done away with the project altogether. Reportedly, Adobe has been testing a similar app for iPads called the Illustrator. Adobe is barging on full force to extend its Creative Cloud Software to Apple’s products. The next Adobe CC app for the iPads will obviously be the Illustrator.

Early in November 2019, the Adobe Max conference will take place, and this seems like the perfect event to introduce the new Illustrator for iPads. The app will finally launch sometime in 2020. The iPad app Illustrator will have many of the features and will indeed mirror some of the features of the desktop version of the same app.

However, what the iPad users will get as the app may not be the one that had been promised to them. The betas for Photoshop that are being tested currently are missing many of the features and other key functions of the desktop version of Photoshop.

This may also mean that Adobe may slowly roll out the other features of Photoshop gradually in the future to expand the capabilities of the iPad app for Photoshop. This sounds like a reasonable and standard step towards the launching of any app.

In fact, multiple reliable sources have emphasized on the fact that Adobe is looking to go all the way on with the iPad app. Naturally, it might take some time before all the Photoshop key features and functions are added to Illustrator.

The news of Adobe providing an update for Photoshop on iPad at the Adobe Max conference had been going around for some time. It is most likely that Adobe will shed light on this on the day of the conference itself.
