Sony, apart from announcing the new PlayStation 5, has also announced that Resident Evil Village will be available on PlayStation 5 in 2021.
The theme that the game developers have decided to go with the latest version of the game from the Resident Evil franchise is that of fear.
The game storyline makes use of the age-old mythic horror stories; likewise, the developers are using Capcom’s in-house RE Engine to make the experience more lifelike. The trailer for the game showed a mysterious, snow-capped village, and the interpretation of that teaser has been left up to the gamers to figure it out.
The story of the Resident Evil Village takes place after the events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard which features the protagonist Ethan Winters who set out on a difficult journey to find his missing wife Mia.
The story for the new game starts with the happy reunion of them leaving Baker’s plantations house horror behind them. The story picks up after that and the action begins to gain momentum when Chris Redfield, an unexpected yet familiar face makes an appearance and the chain of events following his arrival into the life of Ethan Winters.
The landscape consists of mostly decrepit buildings among snow-topped trees. The horror of the game intensifies especially because it is a first-person perspective game, and each encounter with evil is what will take the game forward, and will keep the gamers on their toes.
This does not mean that the gamer should only pay attention to what lurks around the corner, the buildings of the village itself are just as important riddling with various secrets waiting to be uncovered.
The storyline certainly sounds exciting unlike the games from the same franchise. Sony did not put a precise date on its launch but only mentioned that the gamers will get to experience the survival horror genre with Resident Evil Village in 2021 along with PS5.
