The Make Real’s VR party game Loco Dojo is set to unveil the new frantic four-player experience next month by October 7.
VR game is a video game that is played using virtual reality hardware. Most VR games rely on player immersion, which is achieved through the use of a head-mounted display unit or headset, as well as one or more controllers. To simulate a 3D space, the headset usually displays two stereoscopic displays in front of the user’s eyes.
The studio made the announcement earlier this week, though the game was previously expected to be coming to the standalone headset earlier this year.
All the 16 minigames from the PC VR version of the game, which was released in 2017, will be included in this version. It even supports cross-purchase, so if you bought it for Rift in the Oculus Store, you’ll get the Quest version for free.
Loco Dojo has a beautiful visual style based on wooden toys and four different biomes in which to play the games.
You’ll be catching fish with giant crab claws as they jump out of the water in one game, trying to scoop up eggs as they’re fired around in another, and punching a cactus in another.
You can collect masks to wear and show off in multiplayer as you play. If you couldn’t tell from the booming tones in the trailer, the game also features narration by Brian Blessed.
Some new features in the Quest version of the game include a Quick Match mode that allows you to jump into multiplayer lobbies faster, a new tournament mode for 2–4 players, and new single-player modes with extra unlockables.
We haven’t played the game yet, but this will be one to watch for those looking for a Mario Party-style VR experience.
