Apple, Google Ranked “King of Glory” as the Most Popular Mobile Game in the World

Apple’s App Store and Google Play ranked “King of Glory” as the most popular mobile game in the world, with over 10 billion dollars in revenue. Multiplayer online competitive games have proven to be one of the most difficult but rewarding game types available for mobile devices.

Sensor Tower’s latest research report shows that gamers have spent more than 10 billion dollars on Tencent’s popular MOBA mobile game “Glory of the King” since its inception in 2015, making it the first mobile game to do so.

On the App Store and Google Play, “Glory of the King” has generated over 2 billion dollars. This is still a limited sample of data from domestic channels.

Worldwide lockdowns and stay-at-home orders provoked by the new crown outbreak have resulted in an increase in global players’ consumption of mobile games such as MOBA.

In 2020, the average monthly income will have climbed by 43% over the previous year. The average monthly revenue of this sub-category game climbed by 14% in 2021, reaching more than US$300 million per month. Tencent’s Riot Games League of Legends: Wild Rift is slowly making its way throughout the world, boosting the popularity of MOBA mobile games even more.

Sensor Tower also provided numerous games that effectively promoted the increase, such as “Brawl Stars”, which is a unique game theme to “King of Glory.” This game is ranked second in terms of player consumption. This game generated over 320 million dollars in player consumption from January 1 to August 31, 2021.

Equally, Tencent Tianmei’s “Pokémon Gathering game is believed to have been downloaded over 15 million times in the first two days, making it the biggest performance ever for this type of work. The work had been downloaded and installed roughly 30 million times by the end of the first week.
