Today, Sony’s PlayStation Studios revealed that it’s has acquired the Valkyrie Game Studio and will partner in the development of God of War: Ragnarok.

Sony’s PlayStation Studios President Hermen Hulst revealed on Twitter, according to foreign news outlet Neowin, that Valkyrie Entertainment’s gaming studio has officially joined the PlayStation family. The studio will contribute significantly to the company’s success.

This firm worked on “Halo: Infinite,” made games like “Infamous” and “God of War,” and has a tight relationship with Sony. Valkyrie will work with Sony Santa Monica to develop “God of War: Ragnarok” after being acquired by Sony.

In recent years, Sony and Microsoft have acquired a number of game studios in order to expand their influence.

In September 2020, Microsoft paid a record-breaking US$7.5 billion for ZeniMax Media, the parent firm of Bethesda.

This corporation has a number of game studios and has previously worked on the “Doom,” “The Elder Scrolls,” and “Fallout” franchises.

It was discovered that the character set map and trailer for “God of War: Twilight of the Gods” had been released previously. This game is set to be released in 2022 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
