After an extended hiatus from the regularly scheduled updates due to the critical lockdown situation in Shanghai where the headquarters of the devs are located, Genshin Impact 2.7 is finally here. This update has been much-awaited by fans and is bigger than the usual update that Hoyoverse brings out every six weeks, to make up for the time that they have lost.

Players have received and will be getting a horde of new content including new characters, events, quests as well as miscellaneous items. The update “Hidden Dreams in the Depths” also comes with updated compensation included. Travelers will be able to find the full patch notes in the tweet linked below.

Hidden Dreams in the Depths Genshin Impact Update Brings New Characters, Weapons and Quests
New characters Yelan and Kuki Shinobu are coming to the game in the first and second half respectively. Yelan is a Hydro Bow user who is accompanied by Xiao, a returning Anemo character, while the 4-star character of Kuki Shinobu will be paired with Itto’s rerun banner.

Two brand new bows have been introduced in the update which is no doubt integral to pulling Yelan. The first bow is called Aqua Simulacra, and it is Yelan’s signature weapon. The second one is called the Fading Twilight, which is an event reward weapon. As for new quests, The Chasm, which was introduced into the game as a new location in update 2.6, will get a quest line update where the narrative will dig deeper into the cave near Liyue.

What are the New Events in Genshin Impact 2.7?

Genshin Impact has a brand-new event with this update, called “The Perilous Trail” event which is linked to the latest Archon Quest of the game concerning The Chasm. The quests in the event will need to be completed in order to progress with the story, and players will be able to learn a lot more about the new characters as well as take a deeper look into the lore of Liyue.

Yelan now has a Story Quest called “Umbrabilis Orchis Chapter” which any Traveler can attempt as long as they have the required Adventure Rank 40, and complete the pre-requisite Story Quests of Ganyu “Sinae Unicornis Chapter: Act I – Sea of Clouds, Sea of People” as well as the Archon Quest “Interlude Chapter: Act II – “Perilous Trail”. As Yelan is quite a mysterious but enchanting character in the game, there is no doubt that players will be interested in learning more about the Hydro user.

There are also other changes to the game which adjust difficulty and smoothen out bugs, with certain Daily Commissions having had their difficulty reduced, and expeditions have has their rewards changed—which are modifications that Hoyoverse has implemented after listening closely to player concerns.
