As the world continues to go digital, the collaboration between the mobile and automobile industries has gone to the apex level with the manufacturing of needed digital key functions to ensure users safely and conveniently.

Back in April this year, OPPO announced a strategic partnership with the EV giant, Tesla, to manufacture digital car keys that connect OPPO smartphones to adapt all Tesla Model 3/Y vehicles for effective security. The digital car key was recently upgraded to support the Maverick electric bicycle. Now, the South Korean mobile giant is not left out with the introduction of the Samsung Pay Digital Key.

What is Samsung Pay Digital Key?

Samsung’s Digital Key was introduced mainly to expand supported vehicles and terminals for more convenient use. With Samsung Pay, Digital Key users can open, lock, and start their vehicle on their smartphone through Samsung Pay, and then use the vehicle safely and conveniently without a separate key.

How To Set Up Samsung Pay Digital Key?

Samsung’s Digital Key works similar to the OPPO’s digital car keys with the initial set up of the Samsung Pay via one Samsung device.

To do this, get a Samsung device either a phone or watch that support NFC or MST. Then created a Samsung account and support your credit, debit, or gift card therein, as well as your registered fingerprint or Samsung Pay PIN.

Although Samsung Pay is normally preinstalled on compatible phones, you can always reinstall it if necessary. Open Samsung Pay after it has been installed, and then tap get started. Input a new Samsung Pay PIN, and then enter it again to confirm.

What Are The Supported Devices?

The UWB supported smartphones including the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, S21+, S21 Ultra, Z-Fold2, Z-Fold3, S22+ and S22 Ultra. While the Genesis GV60 car supported the UWB function.
