Digital Extremes, the company behind Warframe, has unveiled Soulframe, a new adventure game. At Tennocon 2022, DE showed off its future game, Soulframe, offering players a sneak peek at what to anticipate.
It is expected that Soulframe to differentiate itself from its parent franchise while sharing a visual aspect with Warframe. However, there is still a long way to go until Soulframe is released, so don’t hold your breath for any upcoming gameplay or release information.
Soulframe Creative Director Geoff Crookes stated, “With Soulframe’s worldbuilding and thematic themes, we are really wanting to go back to our childhood favorites like Never Ending Story and those intricate fantasy realms.” We’ll be examining many of those ideas via our own lens while experimenting with the notions of exploration and restoration. Our crew has a special affection for Miyazki and Princess Mononoke where there are reoccurring motifs of nature and mankind colliding.”
What to expect from Soulframe?
Despite a difficult beginning, Warframe quickly gained popularity thanks to its shooter elements and free-to-play premise. The Soulframe universe, according to Digital Extremes, is a realm where people and wildlife clash. The universe of Soulframe appears to have been constructed by the creators with some reference from worlds with a similar concept but in different media.
Warframe is among the most well-known MMOs available since it features amazing ninjas using firearms to perform excellent ninja activities. Compared to Warframe, the game will have more of an emphasis on adventure, frontal action, and other concepts.
The game is still in its very initial phases of development. The developers stated in an interview with The Washington Post that initial thoughts started to circulate in 2019 with little time and that an appropriate ramp-up of operations occurred this past February. Soulframe hasn’t announced a release date yet, and considering the length of the production cycle, it may be years before players can explore the game.
