EA has announced the Battlefield 2042 Xbox Game Pass release date for free trials

EA has recently released the November development post, which includes information on the current season. The most notable announcement is that Battlefield 2042 will be made available on Xbox Game Pass, with a free trial scheduled for December this year.

According to EA’s blog post, Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play subscribers will be able to access Battlefield 2042 after the third season launches.

“We’re proud of the work that we’ve done over the past 12 months,” reads a statement on the official EA site. “If you haven’t joined us yet, starting in Season 3, we’ll be adding Battlefield 2042 to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and making the game available for subscribers with EA Access.”

Battlefield 2042’s publisher EA has already promised to deliver four seasons of live service content over the year, but developer DICE today announced that much more content is also on the way.

With the update post, EA also made it clear that the game’s development isn’t yet complete. They are constantly working on the first-person shooter series, adding new content and bug fixes.

Season 3 will now provide a new specialty, a brand-new map coupled with updates for both Manifest and Breakaway, as well as all-new equipment to add to your arsenal. Additionally, the class system will be back in effect for the upcoming season.

Battlefield 2042 will be available for free trials on the following platforms on the dates listed below:

  • From December 1, 12:01 AM PT through December 4, 11:59 PM PT on Xbox.
  • From December 1, 10 a.m. PT through December 5, 10 a.m. PT on Steam.
  • From December 16, 8 a.m. PT until December 23, 8 a.m. PT on PlayStation.

Fans will not have to wait too long to learn more because Season 3 is expected to premiere in the upcoming weeks. Additionally, EA hinted that they are also working on Season 4 content, and it would be coming soon and that DICE was already pre-producing new content for release in 2023.
