As smartwatch lovers are anticipating the rollout of the OPPO Watch 4 smartwatch, a new leak has just revealed some specifications of the OPPO Watch 5 smartwatch. The leaks confirm that the OPPO Watch 5 smartwatch will be launched alongside the new OPPO Find N3 smartphone slated for the third quarter of the year.

As we all know, in August 2022, the Chinese brand introduced the OPPO Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro in their home country. The duo smartwatches come with impressive features and are equipped with a 400mAh and a 550mAh battery, respectively. However, it seems the brand has skipped the OPPO Watch 4 and jumped to Watch 5.

Why OPPO Skips Watch 4

In some parts of China and the Asian continent, some clans believe that the number four brings horrible luck in general. This according to a recent Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station, has influenced the OPPO’s upcoming flagship smartwatch and has decided to skip the OPPO Watch 4 name for 5.

OPPO Watch 5 Specs

In the leaked details, the tipster confirmed “Comet” as the codenamed for the OPPO Watch 5. Unlike the previous Watch 3 series, the new smartwatch comes with a 570mAh battery with support for eSIM connectivity and has a square display with curved edges. According to the tipster, the new OPPO Watch 5 will be available in white and black carbon fiber shades.

Unfortunately, the leaker did not reveal the pricing range of the smartwatch but only confirmed it will be launching along with the new OPPO Find N3. Meanwhile, as per previous reports, the OPPO Find N3 is expected to be unveiled in the third quarter of this year.

The smartphone is said to include an 8-inch OLED LTPO display with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate on the inside, and a 6.5-inch FHD+ 120Hz display on the outside. Additionally, the phone may also be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, a built-in 4805mAh battery, and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary camera on the back that supports OIS. It may also have a wired charging power of 80W.
