The sequel to Delphine Software’s classic 16-bit sci-fi puzzle platformer, Flashback 2, is all set for launch on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC, with a launching date scheduled for November 16th this year only. Developer Microids, celebrating the news, revealed the latest look at the game in action, flaunting its city of New Washington.

And if you’re someone who’s still alien to the subject, we’ve got you.

Flashback 2 Trailer

The original Flashback was introduced in 1992, demonstrating the 22nd-century adventures of agent Conrad B. Hart on the trail of shapeshifting aliens attempting to infiltrate human society. Flashback 2, which was earlier believed to brace a slightly more vague “November” release before today’s announcement, sees the return of Conrad B.

Hart, once again, goes in search of his friend Ian. Flashback 2’s plainly evident retreat from its predecessor is its shift to new-fangled 3D characters and environments. The previous version employed striking rotoscoped animation for its staunchly side-scrolling action, which in turn has allowed Microids to introduce greater freedom of movement, with Hart now able to move not only left and right but back and forth as well.

Reuniting with some of the developmentalists of the original game, including creator Paul Cuisset, designer Thierry Perreau, and composer Raphaël Gesqua, Flashback 2 guarantees a commingle of “action, combat, platforming, and exploration.” One can also witness the crisp involvement of this commingle in the latest trailer, which shows off the futuristic megalopolis of New Washington.

And if this has fostered an infusion of nostalgia in you, Flashback 2 will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC by the 16th of November this year. You know what you have to do, people.

Conclusion:

Who wouldn’t want to relive their good old days? And if that’s how you can do it, why not? If you’re someone who has played the original game, it’s highly recommended that you let Flashback 2 play along with your brain chemistry and give you some bone-chilling experiences and nostalgic thrills. However, if you’re foreign to the same, what’s stopping you? Let us know your expectations for the upcoming Flashback 2, and also write feedback if we missed something.
