Google received numerous complaints after the last update for its Google Pixel 2/2 XL. The update was made available to the Pixel users in February itself. As soon as the update was issued, users flooded the social media and other respective channels with multiple complaints which majorly highlighted the Google Pixel 2 battery drain and overheating issues.

Google soon took notice of all these complaints and thus officially decided to investigate the root cause of this issue. The company decided to resolve the issue as soon as possible so that the company does not lose its trust in the eyes of its users. For this, within no time, the giant was seen into action.

Google Pixel 2 Issues

One of the Google employees Orrin posted on multiple relevant threads asking the complainants for bug reports in order to investigate the cause from a bird’s eye view.

We want to look into this issue and I’m going to reach out privately for bug reports. Please keep an eye out for my email, thanks! – Orrin, Community Manager, Pixel User Community.

After analysis of numerous posts, sources state that the major cause of this issue was something to do with ‘Android Core Apps. The posts received from various sources pinpointed the issue and the cause.

Not only this, some users even shared screenshots to show how this is affecting their smartphones. We can clearly see the excessive battery consumption issue from these pictures.

Undoubtedly, Google once took quick steps to rescue their Pixel 2 users. The company is still busy investigating all the pillars. The social networking giant thus had not come up with official information regarding the completion of the process.

We don’t know when the company will be coming up with its solution. Till then following are some of the user’s suggested steps for working out the issue till we get the permanent fix.
