The 2012 video game developed by Danger Close Games and published by Electronic Arts is making its upcoming sequel as the Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, which is set to release in December 2020.

Initially created as a first-person shooting video game, it follows the same procedure as before. However, the battlefield’s theme here emerges as the World War II epoch in Europe, where the main protagonist features as an OSS agent and a fighting member in the French resistance.

The player has to fight the battle against the NAZI troop, provided with a fully VR enabled to experience, and the perk of this game is the new multiplayer mode that allows fighting the battle together with other gamers against the backdrop of an immersive narrative provided by the WWI veterans ad survivors.

The game revolves around ten major characters, out of which we get to find two women specialists, one, Manon as a French Resistance member and another, her sister, Juliette as a spy. This can raise more interests and attract female gaming freaks as well.

Made as an endeavor to honor those who have given their lives on the battle of the heinous event of World War II, this game has tried to fuse the traditional with a new bend.

They have incorporated 360-degree footage of real interviews and narratives from the combat veterans and employed state-of-art technology to preserve these narratives. Speaking on this, Director, Peter Hirschmann comments,

With the Oculus Rift, we’re bringing players into the Medal of Honor series in an entirely new way, with an experience that transports you back to Europe in the 1940s. It’s the closest thing to a time machine you’ll ever see……It’s an incredible feeling for us to be back working with this series again, telling unforgettable stories of the men and women who stood up and fought against evil. We can’t wait to share more with you over the next few months. – Peter Hirschmann

The game has received many accolades from people whose earlier generations have been a victim of the World War II event. Using the video game as an entertainment platform to deliver knowledge of the forgone glory to the younger generation is not only a big approach. Still, it is essential to create awareness for all the gamers who will be a part of this history through the video game.
