This week, Microsoft Teams is celebrating the first anniversary of the global launch. As stats say, the teamwork communication platform is presently used by 200,000 organizations in 181 markets across 39 languages. The celebration brings a host of new features to the platform, among which the integration with smart assistant Cortana stands out.

Microsoft’s Slack rival will as well be receiving inline message translations across various languages. Other features include cloud recording for meetings with automatic transcription and time coding, proximity detection for team meetings, mobile sharing for meetings, background blur on videos, and even the ability to add Skype Room Systems into any meeting.

Additionally, Today, March 12, Microsoft is introducing new enterprise-class calling features in Teams, along with consultative transfer, call delegation, and federation. Furthermore, the introduction of Direct Routing will let customers use existing telephony infrastructures with Teams. A Microsoft Calling Plan or Direct Routing with Office 365 Phone System will make Teams a ‘full voice service.’ These capabilities have the expected availability by the second quarter of 2018.

During the launch of Teams, it had the usage of about 50,000 businesses. The present number indicates that the platform is an ideal Slack competitor with 6 million daily users. There is as well coming up a free version of the Teams and its integration with Surface Hub conferencing displays.
