Following a number of glimpses in past, Sony’s long-awaited PSVR 2 is on the way. The release date, cost, and pre-order details for the PSVR 2 have finally been made public by Sony. Here’s everything you should know about it.
Sony has finally announced the PSVR 2 cost and release date
According to the official statement from Sony, the PlayStation VR 2 will be on sale on February 22, 2023.
The PSVR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle costs $599.99 or approx 49,599 Indian Rupees, while only PSVR2 costs $549.99 or approx 45,499 INR. And that’s without adding any games or a separate controller charging station.
For about $50 extra than the usual package, PlayStation will also offer a limited-edition PlayStation VR2 bundle that includes Horizon Call of the Mountain. Though it will only offer players a PlayStation Store voucher code and some unique wrapping art.
Since it was officially unveiled last year, we’ve gradually got a better idea of what to anticipate. The PlayStation VR2 comes with two PSVR 2 Sense controllers, stereo headphones, and the headset device in its basic configuration.
Given the popularity of the first PSVR, it comes as no surprise that Sony is releasing a successor. The PSVR 2 is now proving to be quite competitive despite the recently announced Meta Quest Pro, which poses a serious threat.
When and how can you place a pre-order for PSVR 2?
Beginning on November 15, pre-orders for the PSVR 2 headset will be accepted only through the PlayStation website across a few countries, such as the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Further PSVR 2 pre-orders will open through Sony PlayStation major retailers in other countries on November 15.
As pre-order registrations are now officially available, players may go straight to the PS Store to do so.
