2020 is going to be a big year for Samsung Electronics, and the company has just announced the global launch of the Odyssey G7 gaming monitor. Samsung has used the CES 2020 as the platform to announce its upcoming next big gaming monitor which not only promises the best-in-class performance features but also raises everyone’s hopes by making a curved display.
The G7 monitor is the world’s first 1000R gaming monitor that features a curvature radius of 1,000 millimeters. If the monitor is not sold on its appearance only, its key specs will surely convince them.
The monitor features a rapid 1ms response time with a 240Hz refresh rate and crystal clear QLED picture quality. The monitor is also being regarded highly by none other than TUV Rheinland, the leading international certification organization.
Confirming the alleged best performance of the G7 monitor, Heysung Ha, the senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics has commented, “Samsung is maintaining its position as the global gaming monitor market leader with continued innovation in creating immersive, next-generation gaming experiences, pushing the boundaries of what is possible.”
He further adds, “Samsung Odyssey G7 curved monitor is the ultimate combination of curvature, comfort, and competitive edge, giving gamers the advanced performance they need and demand.”
The beast G7 monitor will be available in two size variants – the 27-inch and the 32-inch. The monitor, furthermore, comes with a refresh rate of 240Hz, 1ms response time, and a deep 1000R curvature.
Additionally, it also comes equipped with a Wide Quad-High Definition (WQHD; 2,560×1,440 resolution), 16:9 aspect ratio, 600 cd/m2 peak brightness, and Quantum dot technology that ensures accurate color presentation independent of the lighting situation. Samsung’s latest curved gaming monitor, the G7, also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility.
The designers at Samsung have gone all-in with designing this monitor. The display monitor comes with a black body with a color-changing rear core lighting system which can remain of a muted color while gameplay, or change colors based on the gamer’s preference. The monitor could also be mounted on a wall or simply put on a table. Samsung Odyssey G7 will go on sale sometime in June globally. The pricing is yet to be announced.
