Microsoft may launch low cost tablet line to compete Apple

Microsoft has planned to release its new line of Surface Tablets. The company has further planned to launch this Surface tabs in the second half of 2018. Thus Microsoft aims towards providing Surface tablets at a cheaper rate than Apple. This Surface tablet will feature 10-inch screen for that amazing display. Surface tops will have round edges which resemble iPad. It has USB-C connectivity. Wearing a price tag of $400 are light in weight with four hours of battery life. Intel Corp may supply main processors and graphics.

According to the sources Apple sold about 44 millions of iPads for $20 billion for past four quarters. On the other hand, Microsoft had made a sale of $4.4 billion of Surface hardware. IDC published a report where they stated that Microsoft sold 725000 tablets whereas Apple sold 9.1 million of iPads in the first quarter of 2018.

Professional oriented Surface lineup range from $799. Microsoft thus aims towards producing cheapest versions of Surface tablets at price of $400. Unlike Surface Pro, this models won’t be coming up with companies keyboard cover. Microsoft thus initiated the project by preparing less expensive versions of its keyboard cover, stylus, and mouse. Currently, the company is planning devices with a storage capacity of 64GB and 128GB. These models will be well equipped to connect LTE cellular networks people said. Microsoft devices will be powered by Windows Pro.
