As we just discovered via a Twitter post, an image of a new DJI Mini 3 was leaked online ahead of the official launch by the Chinese technology company. The image was shared by @DealsDrone, denoting DJI Mini 3 new leak today.

Previously, reports have revealed that the SZ DJI Technology has fixed April this month for the official launching of the new DJI Mini 3 and DJI Mini 3 pro, as testing is rumored to be ongoing. Some speculations disclosed April 20th as the official date while some said April 28th but not yet certain.

A few days ago, several images and videos of the upcoming DJI Mini 3 were spotted online. The video showed off new features in the upcoming DJI Mini 3, like obstacle avoidance and a new design that allows for vertical recording.

According to reports, the drone’s serial number has been active since the beginning of March, indicating that DJI has been testing the Mini 3 for some time.

Similarly, in other reports, the DJI Mini 3 is said to include some significant changes. A new camera is likely to keep the 24mm equivalent focal length but increase the aperture to f/1.7 from f/2.8, resulting in much improved low-light performance.

Also, the upcoming DJI Mini 3 Pro is rumored to contain a revamped three-axis gimbal, as well as a 2453 mAh battery, which has 10% more capacity than the Mini 2. Obstacle avoidance is believed to be the most significant enhancement of the Mini 3, as evidenced by the conspicuous sensors on the front and bottom of the drone in a leaked video.

In terms of pricing, @JasperEllens leaked that the prices will be on the high end, with the DJI Mini 3 likely to start at $950, and the DJI Mini 3 Pro with expected to cost $1250, these prices are significantly different compared to the earlier DJI Mini 2 which costs for $449.

In all, the drones appear to be a test unit, and it may have crashed, breaking one of the camera gimbal’s attachment points to the aircraft. Now that we know DJI is developing and testing the Mini 3, we may expect an official launch date soon. Stay connected with Techgenyz for more updates on the upcoming DJI Mini 3.
