Smartphones and the tech behind them have come a long way as of now. From regular phones for calling to being a complete entertainment package along with support for high- level photography.

Out of all the smartphone brands, Xiaomi and Samsung could be said to
be the ones that focus more on the camera prowess of their devices.
To empower it on a larger scale, Xiaomi has patented new electrochromic lens glasses. As per the patent summary, the frame consists of metal shrapnel complemented with a display module.

In addition, the front frame of the glasses comprises an electrochromic lens. The device also has a lens electrode connected to the metal shrapnel. If we believe the rumors, then the new smart glasses by Xiaomi will be able to control the light transmittance of the electrochromic lens by keeping a tab on the voltage according to the brightness of the real-time environment and the preference of the user. This will surely contribute to user experience improvement.

It has also been reported that Xiaomi has filed multiple patents related to the mentioned aspect. Previously on March 15, Xiaomi filed a patent for AR glasses, and it got authorized instantly too. In that patent, the AR glasses will have the ability to adjust the waveguide’s position in accordance with the pupillary distance of the wearer, along with the face shape and width.

Another patent by Xiaomi on March 17 shows that the current environment image is stored with the help of the image acquisition feature of the AR glasses. The 2D code image of the payee is taken from the current Environment image.

The identification operation of the code image creates an identity verification instruction. After that, an identity verification result is also received. In simple terms, we can say that the glasses by Xiaomi will be able to scan and do QR code payments.
