A tipster on Twitter tweeted that Sony’s PlayStation 5 game controller appeared on the FCC certification site. It means that the latest game controller for Sony’s latest PS5 will soon see the light of day.

The FCC certification site does not reveal much about the key specs of the game controllers. Sony’s PlayStation 5 will feature games that are obviously new, and these games are likely to be unavailable for previous PlayStation consoles.

Sony had declared before that the existing PS4 controller will not work with PS5 games. Certainly, PS5 comes with features not known to the PlayStation franchise and the new capabilities deserve a controller through which the users can not only access the features but also enjoy them to its highest.

This statement guaranteed that Sony will inevitably come up with new controllers. This tale is as old as time; when the PS4 came out, the controllers for PS3 were rendered ineffective for PS4, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 controllers did not work, in the same way, on the Xbox One.

However, the company had mentioned that existing DualShock 4 controllers and officially licensed third-party PS4 controllers will work with the supported PS4 games but not limited to racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks.

Sony’s existing PlayStation consoles Move Motion Controllers and the PlayStation VR Aim Controller will also work with supported PS VR games on the PS5. Even though Microsoft’s Xbox Series X controller comes with bare minimum changes so that existing hardware could work with future games, Sony’s story is a little different.

Sony PlayStation 5 comes with a DualSense controller around adaptive triggers, an integrated microphone, and a new haptic feedback technology. So, it goes without saying that PS4 game controllers too would be ineffective for PlayStation 5. Now that the PS5 game controllers have made their debut on the certification site, it has become almost official. The PlayStation 5 game that is bundled with the console looks like something that works towards making a showcase for DualSense’s new features.
