Sony may release PlayStation 5 in India in December 2020

PlayStation has been popular among the video game maniacs all over the world for over two decades. Almost after four years of the release of PS4 Pro, Sony is going to release PS5 in November 2020. Rumors have it that soon after its release in the US, Sony will release PS5 in India from mid to end of December.

Recently in July, PS5 games were listed on Amazon and Flipkart. The leaks also suggested that PS5 will go on sale on November 13, 2020, in the US and will be followed by Japan and other regions. Therefore, the possibility of PS5 coming to India by December 2020 is very high.

The previous models of PlayStations were made available in India much later than most other countries. However, this time, Sony claimed to make PS5 available worldwide by the end of December 2020. So, we can certainly say that India will get the PS5 console from mid to end of December 2020.

Price and availability

Sony PS5 will be available worldwide in two variants- PS5 Blu-ray drives version and PS5 All Digital edition. PS5 Blu-ray drive version may have a price of $499 (INR 38,000 approx.), whereas the PS5 All Digital edition could cost $399 (INR 30,000 approx.). However, in India, these console will cost much more than that according to the international market prices.

About PS5

PS5 is the fifth and latest installment of the PlayStation video gaming console from the house of Sony. The console’s new controller will have adaptive triggers that can change the resistance to the player as necessary. It will also come with an AI-powered voice assistant called PlayStation Assist and will feature a completely revamped user interface.

Moreover, PS5 will have custom SSD for ultra-fast access. It will run with 8K Resolution and its integrated Blu-ray drive would support 100GB Blu-ray discs and Ultra HD Blu-ray. It will have A8 cores CPU with AMD Ryzen “Zen2” and AMD Radeon RDNA (Radeon DNA) based graphics engine. PS5 is likely to consume less battery than its predecessors according to the reports.
